Seamless Migration to Office 365 / Microsoft 365
GNS is a Microsoft Partner specializing in Office 365 / Microsoft 365 migration. During the migration process, your email, calendar, and contacts are moved from any email system to Microsoft’s Office 365 / Microsoft 365 platform. The migration happens behind the scenes, allowing you and your business to continue working while your email is being migrated.
All email systems can be migrated to Office 365 / Microsoft 365. Emails from your web hosting provider, Google Apps, or from your internal email servers can all be migrated to Office 365 / Microsoft 365.
Office 365 Migration and Microsoft 365 Migration
There are four different types of migrations:
- Staged Migration – In an Office 365 “staged migration,” the data is migrated in phases. This migration type is recommended for large and medium-sized businesses (with over 2,000 mailboxes), where the data volume is too large to be migrated overnight or over a weekend. A “staged migration” is ideal for companies operating around the clock or with offices in different countries. The migration process is typically divided into two stages. In the first stage, data older or newer than a specific date is migrated. Once this is completed, MX records are updated to point to Office 365. In the second stage, the remaining data is migrated.
- Cutover Migration – In a “cutover migration,” everything is migrated from your email systems to Office 365 at once. All your resources are migrated together, including mailboxes, contacts, and distribution groups. With this migration, you cannot select specific items to migrate; everything is moved simultaneously, and once completed, all accounts will be in Office 365. This method is best suited for those with a local Exchange server (2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, or 2019) and fewer than 200 email accounts.
- Hybrid Migration – With Office 365 “hybrid migration,” you can integrate Office 365 with your on-premises Exchange servers and existing directory services. This allows you to synchronize and manage user accounts across both environments. A hybrid migration lets you choose which email accounts remain on your local Exchange and which move to Office 365. This migration is suitable for companies or organizations that need to decide which email accounts should be on-premises or in Office 365 due to various laws or regulations.
- IMAP Migration – With an “IMAP migration,” you can migrate from different email systems that only support the IMAP protocol, such as Gmail or various web hosting services.
Once the migration is complete, you can use the various applications in Office 365 / Microsoft 365, such as Microsoft Teams. Office 365 / Microsoft 365 integrates seamlessly with the remote desktop/terminal server service, allowing you to use all Office applications, including Microsoft Teams, together with your remote desktop/terminal server solution, also known as remote desktop.
